In the '50s, it was realized in Germany by Ryan Holvo, in Japan by Yoshio Nakatani-- I believe I said his name right-- that acupuncture points are the point with the least resistance on the body surface. Meaning that within specific other cultural systems, they picked up on the electromagnetic emanations of the human energy field, like with Western medicine focus on the dense material body. Different cultures focus on different levels of this energy-matter organization because it suits the human being. In Asia, that was a large part of what was focused on. Acupuncture points, now Western science or the ability to do electrical measurements and things like that, now all of a sudden in the West, they had to say, "Wow, we have to acknowledge it because we can measure it." We can measure it, so it exists, and because it exists, then Western medicine has slowly had to accept that acupuncture actually, the meridians had been verified, acupuncture points had been confirmed. If you look at New York alone, in the 30-odd years that I've been in practice, all of a sudden, you have from zero acupunctures to multiple acupuncture centers in every neighborhood. How does a foreign medical system take root here? This is supposed to be the most significant medical system. It's because the system is incomplete. I'm not going even to say flawed, let's say it's incomplete.
